Rule number one for a professional matchmaker?
Don’t fall in love with your client.
I screwed that up when I fell for my best friend, Reid Fortino. He’s gorgeous, successful, and sexy as hell. I figured it would be easy to find him a match—and save the family business at the same time.
But the more time I spend attempting to find the perfect girl, the more I realize how much I want him for my own. What’s the harm if we give in for just one night?
I should have known that would never be enough.
Now I’m on the verge of losing my job and my heart.
We were an imperfect match from the start, but I don’t know how to let him go.
This is the sweetest book. It’s light and funny, very sexy, a perfect afternoon binge read. I couldn’t put it down, and I love the way Melanie Harlow and Corinne Micheals (my favorite authors) write together! It’s seamless, easy! They’re a fantastic duo! I’m a big fan of Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels. Where Melanie’s stories are sweet and sexy, heart and feels, Corinne’s are angst and drama, passion and heat! They are two authors I LOVE reading! Authors I go back to time and time again to deliver a great book. Their first co-write – Hold You Close – was full of angst and tension, so I expected the same thing going into Imperfect Match! But boy, was I wrong!
This book is sugary sweet! Virtually angstless. An easy-on-the-heart-mindless-binge read full of steam and a storyline that brought a smile to my face. I’m a total sucker for the friends-to-lovers romance trope and that’s what Imperfect Match is. Reid (our hero) and Willow (our heroine) are best friends who do everything together. Reid’s an eternal bachelor with NO plans to ever marry or have kids. And Willow’s a single woman who’s ready to take the next step in life (man, or no man) and have a baby (through IUI) by herself. They’re opposites in every way, but 100% kindred spirits. I loved the dynamic between them. They had great chemistry, adorable dialogue.
At the start of their story Willow and Reid are joined at the hip and it’s a problem. In Willow’s Mom’s eyes they’re holding each other back from getting close to anyone else. Willow’s mother insists that they do something about it, urging Willow to set Reid up on some dates. You see, Willow works for her Mom’s matchmaking company, and her mother isn’t sure that she’ll be ready to take over when she retires. So, in a test to prove that Willow can handle the challenge, she agrees to find Reid (her BFF, the eternal bachelor) his dream girl. And with that the fun begins!
And it’s sweet, you guys! Super sweet! They’re cute together. They fall into it quickly and I enjoyed seeing them find love.
Overall, Imperfect Match is a good romance. If you’re coming off an intense read, I recommend this book to soothe your heart. Or if you’re simply looking for a fun, light, sweet, and addictive storyline, then grab this. It’s cute!
