First and Forever is the second book in the Heartache Duet, and must be read after Heartache and Hope.
Duet Synopsis:
Ava Diaz needs saving.
She just doesn’t know it yet.
Just like she doesn’t know a thing about the boy she sits next to on the first day of senior year.
He thinks she’s a brat.
She thinks he’s entitled.
Maybe first impressions don’t always last…
Because Connor Ledger’s about to save her.
He just doesn’t know why.
First and Forever is everything. It’s romance. It’s drama. It’s HOPE and it’s HEARTACHE. It’s a testament to family, to friendship. It’s rife with pain, with humor, with smart banter all brought to life through stellar writing. It’s angsty and sexy and heartbreakingly maddening. It’s a story of two teenagers each battling their own personal wars, inherently GOOD characters just trying to find peace in each other when the relentless reality of LIFE continues interfering. It’s never easy, their path, but their love is unwavering and it makes for the most wholly unforgettable storyline. It’s MAGIC and HAPPINESS, HEARTACHE AND HOPE and it’s a story that’ll stick with me FOREVER. This duet is a MUST!

Jessica’s Review
Part two of this duet easily became my most highly anticipated read as soon as I finished book one. I fell crazy in love with Ava and Connor’s devastatingly beautiful high school romance in Heartache and Hope and I was left reeling for their conclusion at the turn of the final page. Well, Jay McLean just delivered a sequel that far exceeded any expectations I had. First and Forever was blissfully romantic but wrought with anguish and longing the ENTIRE way through. It killed me to read it, it sliced and diced my heart, and it felt so satisfyingly soothing to my soul when it was finished. This story is anything but easy but it is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION and I can not say that loud enough.
I will never get over this couple. I LOVE a romance where you can truly FEEL the chemistry and affection and devotion on every single page. THIS is that type of story. No matter what Connor and Ava are dealing with, and in this book there’s A LOT, you can breathe in their love, you can feel their longing, their desperation for each other even at the worst of times. They define true love, unconditional love, first love, forever love… and it oozes from every page.
