Beau Fortier starred in most of my cringe-worthy teenage fantasies.

I met him when I was a junior in high school, a time that revolved exclusively around bad hair, failed forays into flirting, and scientific inquiries into which brand of toilet paper worked best for stuffing bras.

That is, until Beau moved into the small guest house just beyond my bedroom window.

A 24-year-old law student at Tulane, Beau was as mysterious to me as second base (both in baseball and in the bedroom). He was older. Intimidating. Hot. Boys my age had chicken legs and chubby cheeks. Beau had calloused hands and a jaw cut from steel. Our interactions were scarce—mostly involving slight stalking on my end—and yet deep down, I desperately hoped he saw me as more of a potential lover than a lovesick loser.

Turns out, I was fooling myself. My fragile ego learned that lesson the hard way.

Now, ten years later, we’re both back in New Orleans, and guess who suddenly can’t take his eyes off little ol’ me.

My old friend, Mr. Fortier.

But things have changed. I’m older now—poised and confident. My ego wears a bulletproof vest. The butterflies that once filled my stomach have all perished.

When I was a teenager, Beau warned me to guard my heart.
Let’s hope he knows how to guard his.

RS Grey is my go-to for smart writing, witty banter, charming romance and stellar comedic timing. The Beau & The Belle is an adorably sweet demonstration of all off Grey’s strengths. Together, Lauren and Beau are a dream come true. This is what every girl dreams of, a childhood fantasy coming to fruition, a teenage crush evolving into true love. But with Grey’s signature charm and wit, it’s a bumpy, hilarious ride that all comes together in an adorably fun, entertaining package. The Beau & The Belle is a new RS Grey favorite.

Jessica’s Review

4 “Yes. This.” Stars.

Oh, SWOOOOOOOOOOON of all swoons, this book was SO SWEET. Seriously, my heart is one big mushy, ooey gooey mess after reading The Beau & The Belle. This delightfully tender gem of a Rom Com was so freaking good, so funny, so sweet. RS Grey layers heartache and longing together with lush romance and heartwarming humor to make for yet ANOTHER unputdownable story that I enjoyed completely.

Lauren and Beau’s story is set against the steamy backdrop of lively New Orleans and I’ve never wanted to see and feel and taste a city as much as I do right at this moment. Old money and grandeur, black magic and southern charm, a boisterous night life, etiquette and tradition all come together on these pages to create the most vivid setting for these characters to fall in love. New Orleans kicks this story up a notch. Everything from the sweet Hurricanes and the stormy weather to the beignets and the cotillion classes make The Beau & The Belle a uniquely unforgettable treat for the senses. You’ll fall in love with Lauren and Beau, for sure, but you’ll also fall hard for where they come from.

This is one of those books that had me gripped from the very start. It’s a slow burning romance but there was nothing slow about my instant connection with these characters and their complicated situation. I may have actually loved being in the past even more than I enjoyed the present day, which says a lot considering how sexy and sweet and deliciously romantic the present actually is.. Lauren meets Beau when she’s a seventeen year old debutante and he’s a law student. He’s too old for her, they come from different places and the forces of nature, quite literally, tear them apart. The past is rife with the delicious angst of forbidden attraction and a seemingly one sided teenage crush and I absolutely loved being back there in those moments. When time and circumstance reunite them years later, the present day dynamic is a wholly enchanting blend of humor and romance. It’s all just so good, so up and down and peppered perfectly with well-timed humor. I adored it.
