SOPHIA
Gorgeous. Cocky. Playboy. Those labels earned Xander Black a one-way ticket into my look-but-don’t-touch zone.
Until weeks later, when whispered words full of dirty promises had me sliding onto the back of his bike without a second thought.
If there’s one thing my past has taught me, it’s not to fall for a guy whose hobbies include bed-hopping and breaking hearts. But you know what they say about history…XANDER
Sweet. Shy. Smart. Months ago, those labels told me everything I needed to know about Sophia Kincaid—not my type.
But then she opened her mouth and tore that assessment to shreds. From her smile to her sassy retorts, everything about her drew me in.
One night together was supposed to get her out of my system. Instead, it embedded her under my skin and drove me to make an impulsive offer I’ll definitely regret.
Because if there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s that nothing lasts forever.
I love this cover! It is so so so gorgeous. And the synopsis of this series… it sounds so freaking good! Each book in the Forget Me Knot Series is an interconnected standalone! And the each book can be read with Kindle Unlimited! Definitely intrigued, definitely plan to read, especially after reading the exclusive excerpt below!

Excerpt
I nod my head and push up to the edge of the pool, and I don’t miss the way her eyes linger on my chest. “Turn around.”
She blinks and refocuses on my face. “What? Why?”
“Can’t you follow instructions without asking questions?”
“No.”
“I’m about to get out and strip, and you’re not invited to watch.”
Her lips part in surprise, but she quickly recovers. “Why not? Ohhh, is it because it’s cold? You don’t have to be embarrassed.”
Jesus. Even hungover, she’s still giving me sass. “Sophia, you remember how I said I’m keeping a running tally of all the times you sass me? That one counts as two. Turn around.”
“Nah, I think I’ll watch. Nothing I haven’t already seen, Xander.”
“Good point. Suit yourself.” I push up and lift myself out of the pool completely, giving her an unobstructed view of my entire body. Endless hours in the pool give me the kind of body that drives women wild, and I’m not afraid to show it off.
She doesn’t even try to stop herself from ogling me, and I let her. Soph’s eyes linger on my tattoos for a few seconds before she scans the plane of my chest and ridges of my abs. Her perusal comes to an abrupt halt when her eyes reach the vicinity of my hard-on, and her mouth falls open.
I can’t help but smirk. Griping the sides of my suit, I go to pull it down, but she slaps a hand over her eyes and jerks her body around before she sees anything. The quick movement makes her groan, and she puts a hand on the patio table to support herself.
“Thought you said this was nothing you haven’t already seen?”
“Shut up,” she snaps, and I can practically hear her eyes roll. “I’m just trying to give you some privacy.”
Completely naked, I walk to where my towel is sitting on a lounge chair and wrap it around my waist before lifting a cigarette to my lips. “Right, privacy. If you say so. You can turn back around now.”
“I thought the cold was supposed to…you know…shrink things,” she says, turning back to me, but keeping her eyes on the ground.
“The pool’s heated.”
“And the, uh, boner?”
“You walked out here wearing my hoodie and nothing else; what did you expect?” I ask, flicking my lighter to life.
She shrugs and folds her arms across her chest. “I don’t know.” Her eyes follow my hand with the cigarette. “Kinda defeats the purpose of exercising, doesn’t it?”
I look down at the stick between my fingers and shrug. “I only smoke when I’m stressed.”
“I stress you out?”
“In general? No. In the last ten hours? Without a doubt.”
About the Author
C.R. Ellis is a Texas native who writes contemporary romance novels with plenty of drama and humor, and just enough heat to ignite e-readers and paperbacks everywhere. She can almost always be found attached to her laptop with coffee nearby and her two trusty canine sidekicks by her side. Her passion for writing stems from her lifelong love of reading, and she often binge-reads entire books in a day. She’s an unapologetic book hoarder, and her paperback collection is rivaled only by her massive shoe collection.
