Becoming a teen mom at sixteen was not what I expected, but then again, neither was being a single parent. Still, I wouldn’t change my past because that boy is my world.
Hockey is the only thing my son seems to care about, so I work two jobs to make sure he can play. I’d do anything to make sure he doesn’t suffer because of the bad decisions his father made.
When he won a whole summer of hockey training, I knew in my heart he was going to have an amazing time.
What I wasn’t prepared for was meeting his new summer coach.
He was magnetic, powerful, and a player—in all forms of the word.
If my life had taught me anything up to this point, it was how to avoid making bad decisions, and Justin Stone was the definition of a bad decision.
I could never be a woman his family approved of. Even if I wished I could be.Justin
Growing up as the son of a hockey God is one thing. Growing up as the brother of a second hockey God is another. I had big skates to fill, so it was a good thing I loved every second of it.
Summer was my off time, my time to let loose, but when they ask me to coach a hockey camp for underprivileged kids, I couldn’t say no.
But when she walked in holding a little boy’s hand, my heart stopped beating. Or maybe it started for the first time.
They were a package deal, and I knew this—wanted it more than I’ve ever wanted anything. It didn’t take long to realize that no matter what happened,
I would do anything to protect them.
She is the only one I want to be with.
When push comes to shove, I have to prove to everyone that this is my choice, and This is Forever.

“If we don’t get in the car now, this date is going to go from us going out to me carrying you back upstairs,” he says, kissing me again, and my mouth opens for him. My hand goes to his waist as I hold his jacket that feels like silk in my hand.
“I, for one, will not say no,” I say, and he looks at me. “I know that you want to take me out. I know that you want to give me this.” I lean in now and kiss his neck right inside the open collar of his shirt. “But this, just being with you, is”—I shrug—“well, it’s everything.”
“If you could plan this date, what would you want?” he asks, and I get even closer to him. His hand falls from my face and wraps around my waist.
“You won’t be mad?” I ask him, and he shakes his head. “Well, it would be me and you.” I look up, and our eyes meet. “Your bed.” I look down. “And lots of penalty shots.” The hockey lingo comes out as I try not to sound like a horny girl who just wants him for sex.
“So if I understand this …” he says, “you want to spend the night in bed with me?”
“Yes,” I finally whisper while my heart beats so hard in my chest that I’m sure he could probably hear it. My mouth is dry, and it feels like I have sand in the back of my throat.
“You won’t feel like I’m treating you like a—” I put a finger to his mouth to stop him from talking.
“I’ll feel like you want to spend time with me. I’ll feel like you want me all to yourself, and I’ll feel more special than if you take me out to show me off.” I swallow now, and it’s almost as if I have a lump in my throat.
His hand falls away from me, and I suddenly want to kick myself for being so open. I should have just gone with him and had the romantic dinner that he probably spent a lot of time planning. He takes my hand, and I’m waiting for him to open the door, but instead, he walks back to the elevator. But he’s not walking slowly; he’s almost speed walking, and it’s taking all my concentration to keep up with him and not fall on my face. The elevator somehow opens as soon as he presses the button. He walks in and presses the button for his floor, and then he turns and presses me into the wall. “I promise you that we’ll do all the hearts and flowers date soon.”
I take a deep breath, and the ping of the elevator makes us both look at the door as it opens on his floor. He moves away from me and lets me walk out, and when I get to his door, he takes the lead. He grabs me by the hips and turns me around, scooting down so we are at eye level.
“Everything,” he says right before he takes my mouth in a hungry kiss.
